Student Engagement
Ambassadors
The BSE Ambassadors stay busy representing the department at various recruiting events throughout the year at multiple university-wide Open House events which target prospective high school and transfer students. BSE Ambassadors make a formal presentation each fall at the College of Engineering Information Sessions to the General Engineering students here at Virginia Tech as they try to choose which departments they want to apply to when they officially declare their engineering majors. Ambassadors also give individual tours to high school students and their families and visit classrooms and student clubs at local high schools in Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Salem, and Roanoke as well as their hometown alma maters. We could not do what we do without them!

Liaisons
The BSE Student Engagement Liaisons create and foster community by documenting our current students' experiences and sharing their own. To facilitate community building in our department, our liaisons field and contribute content to our social media platforms to highlight our students and their experiences in the classroom and lab, at job fairs and campus events, and within clubs and organizations. Additionally, they serve as panelists and presenters throughout the year to discuss academics and study habits, undergraduate research, study abroad, and getting involved on campus, as well as shed light on their own experiences as a BSE student with our current students.
