How did BSE prepare you for where you are now?  BSE required many of the courses that I needed to fulfill premed requirements, so when I finally decided to apply, I didn't have to take any additional coursework. BSE got me interested in basic lab science, which led to my first job following undergrad as Research Technician at Dana Farber. While I don't use many of these lab skills today, the pathway from BSE prepared me to take on this first job and led to the path I'm on today.

Your day-to-day: At the moment, as a 4th year student I'm mostly working on applying to residency programs, hoping to match into Family Medicine. The first two years of medical school were primarily classwork and studying, and my 3rd and start of 4th years were clinical work - learning how to be a part of a care team in the hospital, operating room, medical clinic, etc.

Favorite classes from undergrad: Metabolic Engineering with Dr. Senger. Dr. Senger was my 4th year design project mentor, and this course felt like a perfect culmination of our team's project and my entire training in BSE. On the last day, Dr. Senger shared his "life lessons" PowerPoint which I highly recommend. I have since read a number of the book recommendations and would definitely recommend them to others.

Get involved and immersed in something you're passionate about. Don't worry about what it will look like on a resume or job/graduate school application, the reason why you're doing something will resonate so much more in interviews and job opportunities than just doing something to build your resume.
