SMART Living Materials Lab
SMART Living Materials Laboratory aims to engineer biology to make Futuristic Materials for a Sustainable World. The focus of this lab is on the emerging and exciting field of Living Materials, wherein Dr. Duraj-Thatte and her students integrate synthetic biology, bioengineering, nanotechnology, protein engineering, sustainability, and materials engineering to develop SMART Living Materials that are Self-regenerative, Multifunctional, Adaptive, Responsive and Therapeutic. This laboratory’s mission is not only to push the boundaries of Engineered Living Materials but also to develop sustainable materials for a variety of applications in many industries, including healthcare, agriculture and the built environment.
