Ecological Engineering Laboratory
The vision of the Ecological Engineering Laboratory is to conduct controlled, scaled research on natural systems, such as streams and wetlands. For example, our research group seeks to better understand the role of vegetation in stream channel form and processes. The group also explores better management technologies to reduce sediment and nutrient pollution to surface and groundwaters. Bench-scale or mesososm-scale experiments on fundamental environmental processes or best management practice development and improvement are performed. The group seeks an interdisciplinary approach to discovery dedicated to integrating ecological sciences into engineering technology.
