Overview 

This pathway focuses on the production of biochemicals, such as biofuels and biopolymers, using microorganisms, plants, or animals. Biotechnology engineers combine biology and engineering to create vaccines, bio-based plastics, proteins, and other biologically-based materials as well as design processes for their scaled-up production.
