Justin Lytle is a junior from Liberty Township, Ohio, pursuing a degree in Biological Systems Engineering. He is following the biotechnology route, with interest in vaccine development and biological treatment in water quality. While at Tech, he is involved in both environmental (Pruden Lab and Edwards Lab) and biological systems labs (Wright Lab). He has done work with Legionella pneumophila, galvanic corrosion on lead solder in copper pipes, and nanobody display in yeast. He is currently working on a project in the Edwards lab looking at the permeability of dissolved oxygen and organic/inorganic gases through PEX piping. Beyond graduating with a BSE degree, Justin plans to go to graduate school and get a PhD in biological or environmental engineering.

Justin is currently involved in the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, Water Resources Association Student Chapter, and Microbiology Club at Tech. He is a volunteer at the Montgomery Animal Shelter, where he enjoys his time walking and training dogs. He also enjoys playing soccer, exercising, learning/reading, and being with family/friends.

Justin is very passionate about BSE and is grateful for the amazing faculty/community within the department. He is excited to help grow the department and introduce new students to the program.
